What do I need for a Permit?
Submit a request for a building Permit Information Package. It is available on the Building Division's Forms and Applications web-page. There is no charge for this service, however package processing can take anywhere from 1 to 4 weeks.
It will provide you with information specific to your project and your property, including setbacks, maximum height, maximum lot coverage, development charges if any. It explains what drawings that will be required and any other outside approvals necessary that must be in place before a permit can be issued. Applicable Laws items may include but are not limited to Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority, Ministry of Natural Resources etc.).

Alternately, application can be made with two copies of a detailed site plan and two copies of complete construction drawings, without the benefit of a Permit Information Package. A checklist will be prepared at time of application outlining outstanding requirements for permit issuance.
