Here are a few of our most commonly asked questions about the ROC!

Before you visit

Is the ROC open today?

ROC is officially open for the winter season as of Saturday, Jan. 6. Visit our Hours of Operations page for more information. 

How do I find out if the ROC is closed?

Disruptions of service and closure notices for onsite amenities will always be listed on our website. 

Do you have lockers available?

The ROC's Chalet has lockers on-site, but there are no locks on the lockers so please bring your own lock to secure your possessions. 

The locker area is unsupervised and the ROC is not responsible for any loss or damage to items within the locker, please use at your own risk. 

Do you offer drop-in tubing or do we have to pre-book?

Drop-ins are accepted when space is available in a specific timeslot. Booking in advance is recommended to secure the time and date of preference to avoid disappointment. Reservations can be made online at Rates and Reservations

What protective gear do I need for tubing?

Ski industry approved helmets are required for skiing and snowboarding and are recommended for snow tubing. Ski industry approved helmets are available to rent at the ROC for $5+tax with a $50 security deposit. Security deposit will be returned to the client upon the return of the helmet at the end of your visit.

Is there a height requirement for tubing?

All riders must meet a minimum requirement of 40 inches or taller for snow tubing.

Is there an age requirement for tubing?

There is no age requirement for snow tubing at The ROC. The ROC does have a height requirement of 40 inches or taller for snow tubing.

Do you offer group pricing?

Groups are eligible to a 20% discount per person for groups with 20 or more people. To book your group today, please contact georginaroc@georgina.caor call 905-476-8834 ext. 3221.

Do you offer gift cards?

E-Gift cards are available for purchase online.

Do I have to be a resident of Georgina to get the discounted pricing or can I get the pricing if I live in York Region?

Residential pricing is reserved for residents of the Town of Georgina.  Proof of residency is required upon check-in to receive the residential discount.

Do you offer Birthday Parties?

A ROC Winter Birthday Party allows 10-20 of your friend and family members to celebrate together snow tubing for the day! Price is $32 per person and includes a 2-hour lift ticket, helmet rental and kids meal with beverage. Each booking comes with a 1-hour table rental in our chalet. During your visit

Do I need to buy a pass to be a spectator?

Spectators do not require an all access ticket or season pass to access our property. Watch your friends and family tube, ski and snowboard from the comfort of our indoor chalet equipped with seating and cafeteria.

Do I need to buy a pass for Toboggan hill?

Our toboggan hill is free to use during operational hours and is considered use at your own risk. Participants must bring their own toboggan. Please be advised that inflatables, stand-up toboggans, or GT Racers are not allowed.

Do you offer ski lessons?

The ROC offers a variety of ski and snowboard lessons at the ROC. To access our snow school guide or to register for snow school lessons.

Do I have to bring my tube or do you provide them?

Snow tubes are provided on site and only provided tubes will be deemed suitable for use on our tubing hill.

Do you have two-person tubes available?

All tubes are limited to one person per tube. Groups up to 5 tubers are allowed to ride down at one time but all participants must be seated in their own individual tube.

Are the tubes individual or can more then one person go on them?

Do you rent ski or snowboard equipment?

Can I use snow skates on the hill?

Snow skates or ski skates are allowed on the hill as long as they include proper boots like a ski or snowboard boot for ankle support, bindings to ensure the board is secured and the boards have metal edges. 

Snow skates or ski skates can also be used with everyday snow boots, however, these are not permitted on the ROC Hill. They don’t have the metal edges or the proper boot/binding for ankle stability and securement.

Do you have a cafeteria or restaurant on site at the ROC?

The ROC has chalet at the base of the hill that has a cafeteria with a robust menu of comfort food items including food and beverage. Can I bring my dog to the ROC?

Leashed animals are allowed on the ROC property (Make sure to check out the leash-free dog park at the Animal Shelter) but animals are not allowed inside the chalet unless they are certified service animals.

The chalet is considered a restaurant and as such due to public health restrictions animals are not allowed indoors.

Equipment Rentals

How can I rent ski or snowboard equipment? 

Ski and snowboard rental equipment is available to rent at the ROC and can be reserved ahead of time with the purchase of an all-access lift ticket through our rates and reservations page, or reserved in advance for lesson participants at the time of lesson registration. It is important to note that a parent or guardian must be on site at time of equipment fitting to sign the liability release waiver required to rent equipment. A credit card must also be provided at time of reservation.

 

Can I rent individual pieces of equipment from the rental shop? 

Yes, individual pieces of equipment are available to rent (i.e., snowboard, skis, boots, helmet, etc.) 
Reservations for individual items are only available to rent on site at the ROC rental shop and are available based on availability. 

 

I booked my rentals for one date, but I need to change it? 

All-access tickets, including rental reservations, can be transferred to another available date and time up to 48 hours prior to your reservation start time. Simply click “change booking” on your ticket confirmation email.
Following this time frame, refunds and transfers are not permitted. Lesson participants can email georginaroc@georgina.ca for any reservation changes.

 

Do you rent snow pants, jackets, goggles, etc.? 

These a la carte items cannot be rented at this time. Items such as gloves, hats and goggles can be purchased on site at our rental shop. It is recommended you bring the necessities with you for your visit.

 

Are ski and snowboard tuning/calibrating services offered? 

At this time the equipment shop is not currently providing tuning or calibrating services.

Why do I have to provide my weight, height, age and type of skier when I reserve my ski package?

This data is required for setting up your ski binding. Your weight, height, age and foot size helps us calculate a “DIN” value which will determine the release force setting based on your skiing ability.

Are your helmets and boots disinfected before use?

Yes. Helmets and boots are sprayed following each use with a sanitizing/disinfectant spray.

Refund and cancellations

Will I get a refund for a closure?

In the event of closure at our facility a full credit applied to the account or a transfer to another available date will be offered. Refunds will be issued upon request by the original payment method and can take up to 30 days to process.

Can I cancel my scheduled visit?

All-access tickets are non-refundable. An all-access ticket is allowed to be transferred to an alternate date/time at least 24 hours in advance of your ticket time. Please use the link in your ticket confirmation email to rebook all access ticket time. Requests made within 24 hours of your all-access ticket time can be submitted in writing to georginaroc@georgina.ca and will be reviewed by an administrator for final determination.

Requests made after an all-access ticket start time has passed are not eligible for rebooking. Non-attendance does not constitute a notice of withdrawal or rebooking.

How do I get a refund?

All-access tickets, as well as ROC season passes, are non-refundable and non-transferable. Requests can be made for extenuating and unique circumstances and can be submitted in writing to georginaroc@georgina.ca and will be reviewed by an administrator for final determination.
