The Town hosts a variety of celebrations and events throughout the year, these are called Town Events. The Town also support a variety of events run by other organizations, these are called Town-supported events and identified with an asterisk (*).

Santa Claus Parade

Be part of our Georgina Kinsmen’s Santa Claus Parades!

The Town is now accepting parade float and entry registration for the 2024 Keswick and Sutton Santa Claus Parades.

  • Sutton Santa Clause Parade of Lights – Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024, 5 p.m. start
    The parade starts in Jackson’s Point, travels down Dalton Road to High Street along High Street and ends at the fairgrounds.

All entrants must read, acknowledge and return a signed copy of the rules and regulations found in the registration form. To complete a parade entry, a valid certificate of insurance must be provided.

Early bird float registration until Oct.31: $30 After Nov. 1: $45.

Vintage Christmas

Experience the magic of Vintage Christmas at Georgina Pioneer Village! This festive celebration brings the warmth and nostalgia of a classic, vintage-inspired holiday to life.

Enjoy festive fun for the whole family, from visiting Santa at the Train Station and crafting in the Schoolhouse to cozying up by the bonfire, snowshoeing, and exploring the snowman scavenger hunt. Don't miss photo opportunities, holiday lights, and more.

Be a Santa to a Senior

Make a difference in the life of a senior during the holiday season. Help us provide Christmas gifts for each long-term care resident at Cedarvale Lodge and River Glen Haven.

From Nov. 12 to Dec. 8, select a 'Christmas Wish' tag from one of the local storefront locations, shop for your gift and deliver the unwrapped and unsigned gift back to one of the local storefront locations.

ROC'n New Year's Eve Bash

Ring in 2024 with a night of family fun at the ROC! Join us on December 31 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for an exciting evening filled with indoor and outdoor winter activities for all ages. Georgina’s annual cardboard toboggan races are back!

Get ready to hit the toboggan hill at the ROC on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2025.

Spend the day with your friends and family on the toboggan hill.

Use your imagination and build the ultimate toboggan out of cardboard, then register and race it.

Award categories include fastest, farthest travelled, most creative, largest and “ROC” bottom.

Georgina Spring Fling Race*

The Spring Fling Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km and 5km course runs along the shores of Lake Simcoe. The course is fast, flat and scenic, with lots of shade and views of stunning properties. Come and run your personal best or come and enjoy running a route that makes you feel like you’re running down south along the ocean’s edge without actually being there. The marathon is a certified Boston qualifier course. Learn more and register.

Purple Turtle Arts Festival*

Come see amazing paintings, sculptures, photography, pottery and woodcraft, to name only a few of the incredible mediums that will be featured. More than 35 artisans from Ontario, including local artists, will be selected. Stroll around the lush meadow and shop with our vendors, keeping in mind holidays, birthdays, weddings and other special occasions. Our artists have art for you.

The Sutton Fair and Horse Show is a four-day family event hosting live music, truck and tractor pulls, demo derbies, horse and livestock shows, kids games, a full midway and beer tent.

Field to Table

Since 2018, the Town of Georgina has celebrated more than 200 years of agriculture by showcasing local farms that sell directly to consumers in late summer. 

Each stop on this self-guided tour offers unique experiences where you can learn about farming, explore the farms and taste food made with fresh products.

Georgina Senior Games

Georgina’s Senior Games are an annual, friendly competition open to Georgina residents 55 years of age and older. We offer a wide variety of events to choose from and you can sign up to participate in as many as you like.

The Games will take place throughout Georgina from Sept. 10 to Oct. 25. 

Registration will open Monday, Aug. 12, 2024. Complete the online registration form, or drop-in to one of our facilities and we will provide you with a paper copy.

Completed registration forms must be submitted in person at Club 55 Keswick (130 Gwendolyn Blvd., Keswick). Registration and fees must be submitted five business days prior to the event.

Two Dark Nights

Due to popular demand – we will be hosting Two Dark Nights this year! Join us for a guided ghost walk with the Georgina Paranormal Society around the village using state-of-the-art ghost-hunting equipment and be introduced to ghostly history about some of the encounters experienced onsite. You are going to want to sleep with the lights on after this one!

Four sessions available over two nights.

Space is limited. Pre-registration required. 18+.

Note: During this event you will be walking from building to building, climbing stairs and spending long periods standing.
