Calling all four-legged residents! You are invited to the grand ‘unleashing’ of Georgina’s new leash-free dog park. The Town is opening its second leash-free dog park, and is inviting members of the public to come out and join in the official opening. There will also be a cat adoption event taking place at the Georgina Animal Shelter and Adoption Centre.

Background:
The Town’s second leash-free dog park was approved by Council as part of the 2022 budget process. It is located directly in front of the Georgina Animal Shelter and Adoption Centre. It will have a small dog park area and a large dog park area, as well as small shade structures in both areas. The Town’s first leash-free dog park is located at 685 Lake Dr. S.
Residents who are looking for the purrfect addition to the family, the shelter will be holding a cat adoption event. There will be a barbecue fundraiser and a chance to meet the York Regional Police therapy dogs. Learn more at georgina.ca/events.
