Continuing with its safe and phased reopening plan that aligns with the province’s health and safety measures, the Town is pleased to announce the opening of additional facilities.
On April, 11, 2022, the Civic Centre will reopen offering in-person service at the Service Georgina counter located on the first floor. For anyone requiring service specific to permits, licensing or planning-related matters, appointments are strongly encouraged to ensure clients receive the assistance they require. Appointments can be booked by calling 905-476-4301.
While in-person service will resume at the Civic Centre, residents are reminded of the many online services that are available and can be accessed from the comfort of home. Throughout the pandemic the Town has added additional functions and features to the website so residents and can access service at their convenience. Visitors to georgina.ca/OnlineServices can register for programs, pay a bill or ticket, obtain a parking pass or apply for various permits.
On April 25, 2022 our four-legged friends at the Georgina Animal Shelter will be welcoming visitors back. Leading up to the full opening, beginning April 11, 2022, visitors can come to the shelter by appointment by calling 1-800-898-8606.
The Stephen Leacock Theatre of Performing Arts is pleased to be taking centre stage once again. There are a number of great upcoming shows and tickets are now available. From comedy to community theatre to top tribute artists, there is something for anyone looking to enjoy live entertainment once again, close to home. See the list of upcoming performances.
This is the latest step in the Town’s phased and measured approach to reopening safely. Other Town facilities including the Georgina Ice Palace, pool and the three branches of the Georgina Public Library have all reopened in recent months.
Visitors to any Town facility are encouraged to self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms prior to arrival.
