The Town is launching Georgina’s Game Plan as it looks to create its next Strategic Plan that will refresh the Town’s existing priorities for the next four years. There are many things that set Georgina apart from other communities including its rich cultural heritage, access to Lake Simcoe, proximity to the GTA, and balance of rural and urban lifestyle. The goal is to build on these strengths as the Town plans for the future.
“We want to work with our community to help shape Georgina’s future,” said Mayor Margaret Quirk. “The strategic plan is an important guide for Council and staff, and will be developed through consultation with the public, staff and Council. I encourage all residents to get in the game with these public engagement opportunities, and provide feedback to help outline the priority areas for this new term of Council."
A municipal strategic plan sets out the Town’s highest priorities and creates a common understanding of the work the Town will focus on to be successful, deliver a high quality of life for residents, businesses and visitors, and to earn the trust and confidence of Georgina residents, Town Council and staff. The new strategic plan will be a culmination of creative ideas, dynamic perspectives and community-based strategic thinking. Whether you’re a long-time resident, a visitor or work in Georgina, everyone’s feedback and perspectives are welcome.
The Georgina Game Plan project team will be visiting the Link Winter Market and the Ice Palace to gather feedback from community members. Visit and share your thoughts and participate in interactive family-friendly activities.
