Long-time employee appointed new CAO

The Town of Georgina is pleased to announce the appointment of Ryan Cronsberry to the position of Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). Mr. Cronsberry replaces Dave Reddon who retired from the Town in October. Mr. Cronsberry has been with the Town of Georgina since 1998 progressing through various roles within the organization.

“Mr. Cronsberry brings strong leadership, teamwork and communication skills, as well as his ability to work through issues with a focus on exceptional customer service and issues resolution,” said Mayor Margaret Quirk. “He is a solution focused leader and his knowledge and background in municipal government is truly a tremendous asset to the Town. Ryan’s strong management skills, together with his experience as a municipal leader, provide a unique background for him to lead staff and advise Council. I have had the privilege of working with Mr. Cronsberry as he has advanced through our organization and I am excited to work with him in this new role.”

Mr. Cronsberry has had progressive responsibilities with the Town serving as the Manager, Municipal Law Enforcement to our Deputy CAO and most recently as the Acting Chief Administrative Officer. He holds a Master’s Certificate in Municipal Management through the Schulich School of Business, AMCTO Municipal Administration and Employment Law and Human Resources Program Certification and a diploma in Law and Security Administration with multiple related certifications. Mr. Cronsberry began his career in Georgina 23 years ago as a summer student.

I have benefitted from working closely with previous CAO’s, Mayor Margaret Quirk, Council, the community and staff over the past 23 years, and am looking forward to this new challenge,” said Ryan Cronsberry, Acting CAO. “We have all faced challenges over the last year and a half, but I am confident that we are well-positioned to recover from the pandemic stronger than before, and that we have a great team in place that can meet the challenges and expectations of our growing community. Georgina is a great organization and community, and I look forward to seeing what we can achieve by working together.”

The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) is the most senior member of staff for the Town of Georgina. They report directly to Council and work to implement Council’s direction and initiatives and all organizational and operational services for the Town.

Mr. Cronsberry officially takes on the new role effective Nov. 29, 2021.
