Resident feedback sought on public water taps

The Town of Georgina is seeking feedback on the replacement of its public water taps to help inform the design of a new permanent system. Members of the public are asked to take a survey to provide information on how they currently use (and have used) the public water taps and what enhancements they would like to see.

The survey is now open and will close on Feb. 22. Hard copies can also be found at the Georgina Public Library (branches in Pefferlaw, Keswick and Sutton) or input can be provided by calling Service Georgina at 905-476-4301 during business hours.

The results of the survey including preliminary analysis on the location(s) and operation of the new tap(s), will be presented in an information report to Council in March. At that meeting, residents will also be able to provide further input on this topic. Final recommendations will be presented in Council in late spring, with construction anticipated to follow.

Residents currently have access to a free public tap located on Black River Road in Sutton. Larger volumes of water may be purchased at the Bulk Water Station located at the Environmental Services Yard on Civic Centre Road.

The Town is committed to replacing the existing public water taps with a safer and more accessible system. For more information, visit georgina.ca/WaterandWastewater.
