Town seeking volunteer for Committee of Adjustment

The Town of Georgina is looking for a volunteer for the Committee of Adjustment. All appointments are for the 2018-22 Term of Council. Current Town board and committee members are encouraged to apply.

Committee of Adjustment (COA)

The COA hears applications to sever land, also known as a ‘consent’ through public meetings and makes decisions keeping in mind the proper and orderly development of the municipality.

The COA also hears applications submitted by an owner of land requesting a minor variance to the provisions of the Town’s zoning by-law, in respect of the land, building or structure or the use on land. The approval of an application may be subject to such terms and conditions as the committee considers advisable.

Terms of Reference for committees and boards, along with application forms, can be found at georgina.ca/CommitteesandBoards, from the Clerks Division at clerks@georgina.ca or by calling 905-476-4301. Application forms must be submitted by mail or email on or before 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 18, 2022 to clerks@georgina.ca.

The Town of Georgina is committed to inclusive, barrier-free selection processes and environments. We will accommodate the needs of applicants under the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) throughout all stages of the selection process. Please advise the Human Resources Department to ensure your accessibility needs are accommodated throughout this process.
