Watershed Conditions Statement - Flood Outlook

The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority advises conditions are ideal over the next few days for the development of severe thunderstorms. There is the potential for locally significant rainfall this afternoon and early evening in our watershed. Showers and thunderstorms may provide local rainfall accumulations of up to 50mm.  Showers with possible risk of thunderstorms may begin later this afternoon and continue through Wednesday.

Intense rainfall associated with these thunderstorms may result in flooding of low lying areas.  All watercourses in our area may experience higher than normal water levels and flows. As a result, local streams and rivers will become dangerous, especially in the vicinity of culverts and bridges. Children should be warned to stay away from all watercourses.

This Watershed Conditions Statement will be in effect through Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2021.
