First intake of the Economic, Culture and Community Betterment Grants supports 13 Georgina events

Thirteen Georgina events will receive support through the Economic, Culture and Community Betterment Grant in 2024. The Internal Grant Review Team met in March to review the grant applications that are aimed at fostering community development, and enhancing the festivals and events in Georgina.

“We are proud to support these events and initiatives that contribute to fostering community spirit in Georgina, as well as contributing to our Town’s history, traditions and diversity,” said Mayor Margaret Quirk. “We recognize the valued contributions being provided through businesses, community organizations and residents. We are committed to working with everyone who invests and provides programs, services, events or projects to our growing community.”

The grants, which are a vital part of Georgina's commitment to community enrichment, are designed to provide financial support for events, programs, or initiatives that promote economic growth, celebrate local culture, and contribute to community betterment.
