Winter Weekend Escape Itinerary

winter tourism activities in the town of georgina

While Georgina may be known for its summer recreation, it may be even better known for its winter activities on and off the ice. Lake Simcoe, Georgina’s natural gem, does not disappoint in the winter. It is considered by many as the ice fishing capital and is a recreational playground for thrill-seekers and families alike. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and explore Georgina for a fun weekend getaway. Let's make winter fun again!

Day 1

Get ready for an epic winter adventure at the ROC! Slide into the day with tubing, skiing, snowboarding, tobogganing, or snowshoeing – your choice! After working up an appetite, head to the ROC chalet, run by the fabulous Dina Cuzina, a local gem. Need gear? No worries, they've got rentals right on-site.

Once you've conquered the snow, dive into the charm of our four historic downtowns for some retail therapy. For dinner, indulge in a culinary journey at one of our Taste of Georgina restaurants, offering delectable prix fixe menus. And to cap off the day, kick back and relax in one of our lakeside accommodations – where cozy meets nautical vibes!

Day 2

Ready for more winter wonders? Try your hand at ice fishing with our fantastic full-service operators. Don't worry if you're a newbie – no experience or gear is needed! Refuel with a scrumptious lunch at one of our Taste of Georgina restaurants, still rocking those specialized prix fixe menus in February and March.

Embrace the winter magic with a leisurely walk through one of our enchanting trails, soaking in the snowy scenery. Want to add a touch of culture to your day? Explore the arts at the Georgina Centre for Arts and Culture or catch a show at the whimsically named Stephen Leacock Theatre of Performing Arts. Your winter getaway just got a whole lot more fun!
