A New Year brings new fun in Georgina

Happy New Year! What better way to kick off 2025 than with some fun events and activities in the Town of Georgina. 

The ROC is open
The ROC is open. Complete with a carpet lift and snowmaking capabilities, this four-lane snow tube hill offers thrills for all ages for a low price of $25+HST for an all-access ticket for two hours (tubing and lift). Test your skiing or snowboarding skills on the ramps, rails, bumps and jumps in the terrain park or sign up for a lesson with the snow school. Vintage Christmas – lights continue until Jan. 6, 2025
Visit Georgina Pioneer Village from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. until Jan. 6 and stroll through enchanting holiday lights. Enjoy festive fun for the whole family, snap photos at charming photo opportunities, enjoy the snowman scavenger hunt and special holiday programs.

Mayor and Council New Year’s Levee
Come out for some fun winter activities to start the New Year off right with the Mayor and Council New Year’s Levee at the ROC on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Enjoy a free breakfast (while supplies last) served by the Mayor and Members of Council. Have fun with free tubing, skiing, snowboarding and tobogganing 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. It is free only during this two-hour period. Bring your own equipment for skiing and snowboarding or rent equipment from the ROC rental shop. Helmets are mandatory for skiing and snowboarding and recommended for tubing and tobogganing. 

Cardboard toboggan races
Georgina’s annual cardboard toboggan races at the ROC are back. Spend the day with friends and family on the toboggan hill. Use your imagination and build the ultimate toboggan out of cardboard, then register and race it. Registration form and more available at georgina.ca/CardboardRace.

Pefferlaw Ice Pad
The Pefferlaw Ice Pad (PIP) is open. The PIP is an unsupervised ice pad, use at your own risk. We ask all users to be respectful of one another. Before you visit, be sure to review the rules of etiquette of play and follow the daily schedule. Visit georgina.ca/skating for more information and the schedule.

Winter recreation registered and drop-in programs  
Whether you are looking for a multi-week commitment or the flexibility to work around your schedule, be sure to check out all the programs and lessons available for the winter session of recreation, fitness and aquatic fun. SnoFest
Come out for a day of winter fun at SnoFest at the ROC. Mark your calendars for Saturday, Feb. 1 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. This annual event features activities for all ages and includes games, food, live entertainment, an igloo dance party and more. Don't miss out on the fireworks display at 6 p.m. Regular tube/lift and chalet prices apply.

Stephen Leacock Theatre of Performing Arts – Jully Black
Looking for an entertaining night out? Get tickets to see Jully Black on Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Stephen Leacock Theatre of Performing Arts. Named one of "the 25 Greatest Canadian Singers Ever" by CBC Music, Jully Black has been dubbed "Canada's Queen of R&B Soul."
