Tis the season for celebrating with family and friends and the Town is implementing a temporary holiday on-street parking exemption so residents and visitors don’t have to move their car, except when winter operations are underway. The holiday parking exemption will be in effect from noon Friday, Dec. 20, 2024, to Thursday, Jan. 2, 2025. Municipal Enforcement will not ticket vehicles parked for more than three consecutive hours or between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m.
The temporary lifting of restrictions does not apply during winter maintenance events, including significant snowfalls and storms. The Town reminds residents to be aware of the weather and remove vehicles from the street so snowplows can safely do their job.
Other parking restrictions will continue to be enforced, including –
- No vehicle can be parked on or over any portion of a sidewalk or footpath.
- No vehicle can be parked on a boulevard.
- No vehicle can be parked on the paved boulevard section of the driveway with the vehicle overhanging any portion of the road.
Residents are also reminded to keep the area around fire hydrants clear and not to shovel snow onto the street. Regular winter parking restrictions will resume on Friday, Jan. 3, 2025 and will be in effect until Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
