Town Council proclaimed Friday, December 6, 2024 as 'International Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women' throughout the Town of Georgina to raise awareness and take a united stand against violence targeting women, and to remember and honour the 14 women who lost their lives and those who were injured as a result of gender-based violence on December 6, 1989 at l'Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal.
