Wristband policy
Wristband Policy in effect:
- Red wristband (5 years or younger – one guardian and two children) - Must be accompanied by a guardian (16+). Must be within arms reach and directly supervised.
- Yellow wristband (6-9 years of age – one guardian and three children) - Must swim with a guardian who is responsible for direct supervision and must be in the water. Non-swimmers must remain within arms reach.
- Green wristband (10+ years of age) - May swim without a parent or guardian.
- Deep-end test - All swimmers are subject to a screening before entering the deep area. Test: Swim two widths of the lap pool comfortably, tread water or support their body at the surface for at least one minute.
Drop-in program legend
Pre-registration for Aquafit drop-in programs is recommended. Registration can be done online, by phone or in person. Pre-registration for public swimming and other swimming drop-ins is not needed.

Legend
Accessibility Swim: All pools. For individuals with accessibility needs.
Adapted swim: All pools. No waterslide. For individuals with exceptionalities. Pre-registration is recommended.
Aqua boot camp: Shallow and Deep water. High intensity.
Aqua combo: Shallow and Deep water. Medium intensity.
Aqua stretch: Therapy pool. Low intensity.
Diaper fit: Registered program. With baby seats provided, parents will follow an instructor’s lead to water aerobic exercises that incorporate baby in their seat.
Lane Swim: Access to lap pool.
Older adult swim: For adults over 55 years. Access to lap pool.
Parent and child swim: Access to beach pool. Children under 8 years.
Public swim: All age access to all pools and water slide. Wrist band policy will be in effect.

The Lifesaving Instructor portion of the course prepares individuals to organize, plan, teach and evaluate lifesaving and first aid skills and resuscitation techniques in the Society's lifesaving and first aid awards. Successful candidates on the Lifesaving Instructor course receive two certification cards: Lifesaving Instructor and Emergency First Aid Instructor. Current Lifesaving Instructors are certified to teach: - Canadian Swim Patrol Program - Bronze Star, Bronze Medallion, Bronze Cross - Lifesaving Fitness, Distinction
This course is 100% mandatory attendance.
Prerequisites: 15 years of age by the end of the course; Bronze Cross or NLS certification (need not be current).
National Lifeguard: Participants will learn to prevent accidents, identify hazards, determine safe practices, educate public about risks associated with aquatic activities and how to be safe around water. They are also trained to spot potential trouble and intervene before it becomes life threatening. Includes a 400m timed swim. Lifeguarding is a fun, exciting and rewarding job, it is also a job that requires an enormous amount of responsibility. 100% attendance is mandatory.
Prerequisite: 15 years of age by the end of the course, Bronze Cross & Standard First Aid with CPR 'C'.
