York Region's Health Services Department monitors water quality at the region's public bathing beaches during the summer months to ensure that the water is safe for swimming.
In Georgina. the following public beaches are tested from mid-June to the end of August:
- Jacksons Point Harbour/Bonnie Park
- Glenwoods Park
- Peninsula Resort
- Church Street Parkette
- Holmes Point Park
- Sheppard Ave Park
- Franklin Beach
- North Gwillimbury Park
- Riverview Park
- Willow Wharf Dock
- Claredon Beach Park
- Willow Beach Park
- De La Salle Park

Advisories
When the level of bacteria is high enough to cause illness, staff from York Region Health Services Department will post a sign(s) at the beach to warn swimmers of unsafe conditions.
- A red sign is posted when the bacteria level is more than the Ministry of Health standard.
- A blue sign is posted when the bacteria level is within acceptable limits.
Beaches will remain closed when there are indications of hazardous or infectious materials present in the water, or in the event of a blue-green algae bloom. When the water is once again safe for swimming, the beach will be reopened.
