Overview
The goal of the Sewage Pump Station (SPS) Rehabilitation Program is to establish the current condition of the Town’s 18 sewage pump stations, identify measures necessary to maintain the facilities in a state of good repair over the next 20 years and implement those measures which may include repairs, rehabilitation and replacement of components. The program aims to ensure the Town’s sewage pump stations are all operational to convey sanitary sewage to treatment facilities. The program will be completed in a series of capital projects spanning many years.
Rehabilitation of Sewage Pump Stations 1, 2, 7 and 8
A condition assessment of sewage pump stations 1, 2, 7 and 8 (all originally constructed in 1987) was undertaken in 2021. All of these stations were originally constructed in 1987. The condition assessment concluded that significant rehabilitation is required for various components (mechanical, structural, site works, etc.) within all four sewage pump stations (SPSs). In July 2023, EXP Services Inc. was awarded the engineering services assignment to complete the design and subsequently oversee the construction of the rehabilitation works at the four sewage pump stations:
SPS 1 - 104 Lake Drive North
SPS 2 - 52 Metropolitan Crescent
SPS 7 - 517 Lake Drive South
SPS 8 - 687 Lake Drive South
The engineering design is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2023. Tendering and construction work will follow and is expected to be completed in 2024.
