Animal Services partnership
The Georgina Animal Shelter and Adoption Centre provides urgent care to stray cats and dogs in the following municipalities: Georgina, Newmarket, Aurora and East Gwillimbury. All dogs are required to be licensed in each municipality and cats are required to be licensed in Newmarket and Aurora.
Town of Aurora Animal Services Licensing Fees
Below are the animal tag prices for each dog or cat over the age of 16 weeks:
Cat - $23
Senior Resident - $11.50
Dog - $34.50
Senior Resident - $17.75
Service animal - No fee
Town of East Gwillimbury Animal Services Licensing Fees
Below are the animal tag prices for each dog over the age of 16 weeks:
Regular dog licence - $41.50
Senior (65+) - $30.70
Replacement tag - $8.50
Town of Georgina Animal Services Licensing Fees
Over 16 weeks of age:
- Dog licence intact $40
- Dog licence spayed/ neutered $25
- Replacement tag $5
Fees are waived for service animals
Town of Newmarket Services Licensing Fees
Below are the animal tag prices for each dog or cat over the age of 16 weeks:
- $37.10
- 55+ Rate - $31.80
- Replacement tag fee - $5.30
- Transfer from another municipality - $5.30
No fee is required for service animals, guide dogs and police enforcement animals
