Polybutylene Water Service Line Replacements

Overview

The Operations and Infrastructure Department maintains the Town of Georgina’s Keswick and Sutton Water Distribution Systems, including necessary preventative maintenance and infrastructure replacement projects.

Polybutylene water service connections installed in the 1980s have reached the end of their expected service life and are beginning to fail. These service connections need to be replaced to eliminate water leaks and reduce service disruptions. The Town has identified areas in Keswick where polybutylene water services were installed. The polybutylene services will be replaced on an annual basis.

March 2024 Investigations

The Town will be completing investigation works in late March 2024 on Bayview Avenue, Royal Road, and Love's Road. There will be temporary lane closures while the investigations take place.

The construction is anticipated to commence in late summer 2024, and be completed by November 2024. Notification of start of construction will be sent, and signs will be erected.
