Bloom Yoga for Kids (4-8yrs)

Ages 4 – 8 years

MURC - Activity Studio at Multi-use Recreation Complex

Our kids yoga program, Bloom Yoga for Kids, is designed specifically for children aged 4-8 years old. We believe that yoga is not just for adults, but also for our little ones who can benefit greatly from its practice. Here are some of the incredible benefits that yoga offers for this age group: Physical Development: Yoga helps children improve their flexibility, strength, and coordination. Through various poses and movements, kids can enhance their motor skills and body awareness.

  • Emotional Well-being: Yoga provides a safe space for children to express and regulate their emotions. It helps them develop self-awareness, mindfulness, and relaxation techniques, which can reduce anxiety and improve overall emotional well-being.
  • Focus and Concentration: Yoga teaches children to focus their attention on the present moment. By practicing mindfulness and breathing techniques, kids can enhance their concentration and improve their ability to pay attention in school and other activities. Social Skills: In our kids yoga classes, children learn to interact with their peers in a positive and supportive environment. They develop important social skills such as cooperation, empathy, and respect for others.
  • Body Awareness and Confidence: Yoga encourages children to listen to their bodies and become aware of their physical abilities. This promotes self-confidence and body positivity, allowing kids to appreciate and embrace their unique selves.
  • Stress Relief: Just like adults, children also experience stress. Yoga provides them with tools to manage and reduce stress levels. Breathing exercises and relaxation techniques can help calm their minds and bodies, promoting a sense of peace and well-being.

Our bloom yoga program is led by a York region district board teacher, who specializes in children wellness. We believe that yoga is a holistic practice that nurtures both the body and mind of our little ones. Join us on this amazing journey of self-discovery and growth through yoga!
This program is also part of the Fitness Pass & Rec Pass and is available as a drop-in program for the duration of the start and end dates posted. For more information, visit our Fitness Pass page.
